Fairy Tale Acting

Remember "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", "Hansel and Gretel", or "Puss in Boots"? Well now your child will come to love these tales as we use them to explore characters, strengthen verbal and reading skills, and learn foundational acting skills. See a fairy tale come to life in a final class performance for friends and family!

Acting 

This class is designed to give serious students the proper acting skills they need to be a great performer in musical theatre Here you will learn theatre terms, voice projection, stage direction, warm-up exercises, character development, and much more through the study of age appropriate monologues and scenes.

Acting for Musical Theatre

ALL ABOUT AUDITIONS

In this class, aspiring actors will be able to improve their audition skills. Students will learn how to manage stage fright, become familiar with the audition process and decorum, and participate in activities meant to improve confidence. The final class will consist of a mock audition where students can experience the process and practice their new skills.

  • When: Wednesdays 7:00-8:00

Improv Acting 

Improvisation is an essential tool for any actor. The ability to think on your feet, commit to any situation, and work with others on the go are all skills which this class will teach. Improvisation is acting without a script and often without any set plan. Students will work with an instructor on building proper improvisational techniques as well as present a short Improvisational Showcase at the end of the semester. The instructor will use a variety of Exercises to build skills and confidence in the students.

Youth Directing

Ever wondered what being on the other side of the table is like? Do you want to put what you see in your mind on the stage? Then this is the class for you. Directing for the Musical Theatre offers an opportunity for students to learn and experience the directing process. From conception to production, students will take the lead on their own 10 minute musical to be presented at the end of process. We will discuss the 5 stages of directing and put them all into practice. Students will learn from seasoned directors on the ”dos and don’t’s” of creating, sculpting, and producing a musical production. 

  • Ages: 13-18 years old
  • When: Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 (some weeks will change due to performance schedules) beginning August 22nd
  • Cost: $75 (plus a one-time $25 enrollment fee for first time enrollers) *discounts for enrolling in multiple classes
